Every great journey starts somewhere, doesn't it? And for Fjords, it all began in 1941 in a modest cellar workshop in the Norwegian village of Sykkylven. Brother Otto and Mindor Hjellegjerde set out to build a furniture company. When their brother Ingvald joined the business in 1945, the family venture gained momentum, laying the groundwork for what would become one of Norway's most respected furniture manufacturers.

It was just a decade ago, in 2006, that Fjords stepped into the international market. Cold-cure Moulded Foam

This is one of Fjords' biggest engineering advantages. The brand uses cold-cure molded polyurethane foam, which is more resilient than conventional foam. It never fails to retain its shape longer, offers better pressure distribution and helps the chair maintain its comfort for many years to come. So, you can find this foam in the furniture seats, backs, armrests and footstools.
